We've decided to start a blog to highlight our journey as a family and are excited to keep our family and friends up to date on all things Lemmons!
Our first order of business is to blog about "our little secret"...
WE'RE GOING TO BE PARENTS!!!
This blog will be private until we decide to invite a few friends and family and then eventually make it public. Until then, it will be fun to blog about our journey as first time parents (look out world)! Our hope is also that our sweet baby on the way will be able to look back at this blog years down the road and see how much his/her parents wanted and loved him/her before he/she even entered the world. We will have to continue to refer to our baby as he/she and him/her until we find out the gender because I (Lauren) am not a fan of the pronoun "it" when referring to my child!
Now for an account of the fun we've been having for the past few weeks...
We found out we were expecting Baby Lemmons on July 4- talk about fireworks!!!
Our news was quickly confirmed by a blood test at the doctor and an ultrasound on July 27 where we saw Baby Lemmons' sweet little heartbeat flickering away at 135bpm! What an amazing experience it was seeing Baby Lemmons for the first time!!
We are so excited about the days and weeks to come as we begin this journey. So far, the only ones who are in on our little secret are parents and siblings. We can't wait to tell the world once we're a little farther along (just reached 8 weeks today). Baby Lemmons has officially reached the size of a raspberry... growing like a weed! He/she is scheduled to meet us around March 16, 2010. Could be a lucky St. Patty's Day baby! Until then, we'll be blogging away so that we can always remember this once in a lifetime feeling.
