It's official... Sam DETESTS green beans.
Mommy was so excited about giving him his first solid food outside of rice cereal and oatmeal. These are the reactions Sam gave us when we gave him his first taste...
Not excited!
These taste terrible, Mom!
He was hanging his head in disgust and doing a fake "shudder" with each taste. VERY dramatic!
You're not going to make me eat another bite, are you?
Maybe if I try to look cute and prop my little foot up on the tray they won't make me eat anymore green beans.

How can such an adorable little boy make faces this awful?? He's trying to escape from the high chair at this point.
Really close to a meltdown. This is when we aborted Mission Green Beans!
We're going to try green beans again and look at coating them with rice cereal and/or mixing them with other veggies to see if Sam will learn to love them. :-) Mommy is hoping and praying that he doesn't grow up to hate veggies like Daddy! We also have carrots, squash and sweet potatoes in our arsenal for the next few weeks and are hoping we will find at least one winner.
Sam is doing all kinds of fun things lately, and growing so fast! He loves to:
-Put his feet in his mouth (well, put just about anything in his mouth).
-Touch and grasp everything (especially faces, Mommy's hair, books, etc.). He even loves to grab things with his feet!
-Talk (all the time and at louder and louder volumes). Wonder where he gets the talking genes from? He has also learned to squeal when he's especially happy and laugh very loudly from deep within his belly. Daddy has a special gift for bringing out Sam's laugh when he does a special dog bark for him. HA!
-Play while drinking bottles. Mommy and Daddy have had to learn to eliminate distractions from our Curious Sam!
-Turn his head VERY quickly when a new voice or person comes close. He loves new faces and new people, but is very nosy!
-Prop himself up on his arms and move like an inchworm (not sure yet if he will be a crawler since some babies aren't).
-Dance in anyone's lap who will hold him up! He loves music. We even heard him singing along with Bon Jovi in the back seat of the car last weekend. Daddy was so proud of our little rocker!
-Pet Ella and Addie and touch their fur (He especially loves to grab Ella's "fro" very tightly and hold on for several seconds). Luckily, she's a great sport and so sweet to her little brother!
Mommy and Daddy are excited for an anniversary getaway this weekend, but it will be our first time leaving little Sam overnight. We know he'll be in great hands with Mimi and Pops but that won't stop us from missing our little man and thinking about this face...
So sweet! Even his disgust faces are cute! Cooper didn't like green beans either at first, but will tolerate them now. The only other thing he won't eat is bananas so far. Maybe Sam will like the other vegetables!
