4 Month Checkup!

We have a big, healthy nearly 4 month old boy on our hands! Sam will officially be 4 months old on Friday, July 9 and went for his 4 month well baby checkup and shots today. He weighed in at 13 lbs 14 oz and is in the 42nd percentile for weight. He was 25 1/4 inches tall (wow) and in the 84th percentile for height! Definitely destined to be a baseball player and/or quarterback. Check out some adorable shots Mommy and Daddy snapped with our phones.

Striking a pose for my favorite pediatrician!

Dr. Miller listening to my heartbeat.

I'm such a big boy!

All smiles before the shots started...

Dr. Miller was happy with all of the milestones Sam had already hit and glad we had begun to start solid foods with Sam. She told us to continue giving him rice cereal 1-2 times per day until he is more comfortable eating from a spoon. Then it's off to veggies and fruits!

Dr. Miller also let us know how important it is for Sam to begin developing a nap schedule and routine. He fights sleep terribly during the day and rarely sleeps during the day unless in his swing or someone's arms. This is going to be challenging, but we are going to do everything we can to get Sam napping somewhat consistently as it will allow him to learn to fall asleep on his own and will make the lives of all of his caregivers easier. The good news is that Sam is sleeping through the night (8:30p-5:30a) virtually every night. The secret is ensuring he has a full belly before he is officially down for the night. We are also still swaddling Sam at night and plan to continue this until he begins rolling over both ways and/or kicks himself out! :-)

Thank you, God for a healthy and happy ALMOST 4 month old! We are so blessed and in love with our precious boy.
