Baseball Baby

The Lemmons family loves baseball! While I was cooking last night, Jonathon and Sam watched Roy Halladay of the Phillies pitch the second no-hitter in baseball postseason history. Very exciting! Sam and Daddy worked together at the grill (don’t worry, Sammy wasn’t close to the flames or smoke) on the chicken and Mommy made veggies in the kitchen. Aren’t they cute?

Our little Rookie of the Year has been really excited to see the Braves doing so well!

Sam has loved the Braves ever since he and Daddy watched their first game on opening day...


Today, Daddy dressed Sam in his baseball attire so he can cheer on the Braves once again. A long-time Braves fan, Jonathon is so excited to see them in the playoffs for the first time in a while this evening. Before he left for Gram’s house, Mommy was asking Sam which baseball position he might like to play when he gets older. Jonathon was yelling “third baseman!” Obviously, that’s the position he always played. :-)




When Daddy dropped Sam at Grammy’s house, she burst into tears for a couple of reasons:
1. He was just adorable and looked so grown up!
2. His outfit featured #36 like Sam’s Great Uncle and Grammy’s brother Ron Willis who played in two World Series as a Relief Pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals. Uncle Ron died tragically of a brain tumor long before I was born, but his legacy has lived on through my cousins, Aunt Becky and of course my Mom who is always talking about what a wonderful brother he was to her. Below, I’ve included a photo of a painting of Uncle Ron that my cousin Christy has hanging in her home. :-)

Mommy has also taught Sam the song “Take Me Out To The Ballgame” and he LOVED it! His favorite part is “for it’s ONE, TWO, THREE strikes you’re out…” Can’t wait to take Sam to his first Braves game in Atlanta. The last game we attended was last year with Mimi and Pops while Sam was just a little peanut in Mommy’s belly. :-)
