We’ve had so much fun together and can’t wait for many more. We have been fortunate to take a trip to celebrate every year since we got married. I thought it would be fun to take a look back at some of the fun we've had!
We spent our 1st anniversary in NYC in August 2007. It was the first NYC trip for both of us so we enjoyed many touristy things in addition to a Broadway show (Legally Blonde), Yankees game and some fabulous restaurants. We stayed in the cutest boutique hotel, The Casabalanca, which was right in the middle of Times Square. Our anniversary dinner was spent at Tavern On The Green in Central Park followed by champagne and eating our soggy, freezer-burnt wedding cake back at our hotel. What a fun and memorable first NYC trip for both of us!

Our actual 2nd anniversary was spent moving into our current home along with preparing for exams during my final week of grad school. A new home and an MBA later, we took a trip to Puerto Vallarta in September. We stayed at the Vallarta Palace which was a fabulous resort! We felt so pampered and just enjoyed the sun, sand, food and one another. Want to go back so badly!

We spent our actual 3rd anniversary taking in a fun weekend in Nashville. We outlet shopped (mostly browsing baby clothes because we had recently found out about little Sam), ate lots of great food and took in a Titans game. This trip was in anticipation for our beach trip to Okaloosa Island in September. We enjoyed a week of beach time, just the two of us. We spent most of the trip talking about our sweet baby to be! Check out Jonathon getting caught up on his pregnancy fitness news while we soaked in the sun...

We've taken many other trips during our years together and love to travel. We also know that we won't have too many more opportunities to travel alone now that our family has grown! We were wanting to plan a getaway close by to celebrate this year(Mommy is still a bit uncomfortable with traveling too far for too many days without my Sam). I asked for some suggestions on Facebook and got some great ideas from friends. I will be filing several of them away!
We have decided to visit Chaumette Winery and Vineyards in Southeast Missouri for our anniversary weekend. I know what you're thinking. Missouri? Winery? Huh? Would have never known about this myself if not for through a friend. My sorority sister Michelle Johns Epps and her husband celebrated an anniversary there last year and I saw the pictures. Beautiful! We will have our own private villa at the resort and will spend our time drinking wine, visiting the spa, eating wonderful food and relaxing by the pool. My kind of getaway and only a quick 5 hour car ride away from my little love!

We are so excited for "award-winning wines, gracious service, quality entertainment and elegant accommodations." We are also excited for the gorgeous views of the rolling hills in historic Sainte Genevieve, Missouri.

We are also planning a big 5th anniversary trip, hopefully at another city and resort in Mexico or possibly to the Virgin Islands. We have also tossed around going back to Maui where we honeymooned but are sure nothing will ever top Hawaii the first time around. Still researching and having a blast doing it. Vacation planning has to be one of my favorite things! So much to look forward to. :-)

I've never heard of this winery. Can't wait to see how you like it. It looks beautiful and sounds like a fantastic getaway!
