Sam had the most fun weekend experiencing Summertime as a toddler, and also showing us some exciting new things he has learned! I’ve used the letter “S” below (and a few pics) to recap all of the fun things “S” did this weekend. :-) S is for… Scribbles- Friday night, we decided to eat dinner at Chili’s after work. Sam got his own Pepper Pals menu and crayons and showed us that he now knows how to hold a crayon and scribble! So precious! He also tried the queso for the first time in between bites of his grilled cheese and mandarin oranges. No surprise that he loves it just like his parents!
Spoon- Saturday morning, Mommy woke up early to make Sam’s favorite breakfast, scrambled eggs with cheese. For the past few weeks, we have been giving Sam a spoon with his meals and getting him accustomed to holding it. Saturday morning was the first time he truly gathered food with it and brought it to his mouth. What a big boy!
Sampling- We decided to get out and about around lunchtime Saturday and ended up at Holiday Ham. Sam loved the opportunity to color once again and also the OLIVES on top of Mommy and Daddy’s sandwiches (truly his favorite food!).
Swooning- Next door to Holiday Ham, we saw a Petco with dogs waiting to be adopted. While I stood firm on my desire to not take one of the adorable pups home (because we already have two sweet girls and our home sometimes feels like a zoo as it is- HA!), Sam absolutely LOVED playing with them (and climbing on the cages as depicted below :-)). He even cried when we left the store. This was an obviously free way to captivate his attention and was much easier than a zoo, museum, etc. trip. I think we have a new favorite hangout!
Sunday School- Sam was exhausted from such a busy day before and evening, but still went to Sunday School on Sunday morning. Can you see the look of exhaustion on this sweet boy’s face? :-)
Swimming- After a much needed nap, our little water baby spent some time with his buddies Caden and Joey at their Grandparents’ pool. This was Sam’s second time swimming (first was at only 3 months old) and he had an absolute ball! Made me SO excited to take this adorable little fish to the beach next month!
Saying What He Wants- While at the pool yesterday, sweet Sam was asked if he wanted a popsicle and what kind. Our sweet boy said “NANA.” Coincidental? Maybe. But it was still amazing nonetheless! Sam knew he wanted a banana popsicle and enjoyed every bit of it. :-)
Surprise From Mama- It’s been a while since Christmas and S’s birthday and I think a new toy is in order for our sweet, spoiled little angel. Our little Bug just loves cleaning and is OBSESSED with mops, brooms, etc. Mama is ordering him this special cleaning trolley I know he will LOVE. Can’t wait to see his little eyes light up when he plays with it for hours on end!
