Baby Graduations

This weekend marked two important graduations in the life of Baby Sam.

1. First official table food
Baby Sam enjoyed a little handful of Mommy's scrambled eggs on Saturday morning. He LOVED them! This was Sam's first official table food and it was a huge hit. We tried tiny whole-wheat bagel pieces last week and Sam wasn't quite ready for bread just yet. He loved the texture and taste of the eggs and really enjoyed them (although he made a huge mess). :-)

2. First ride in big boy car seat
Baby Sam surpassed the length requirements for his infant seat a while back (so tall!) and we have been avoiding putting him in his larger car seat until we feel he's ready. We tried out his new one this weekend and he LOVED it! Jonathon and I each bought one at this time last year knowing we would be needing a convertible seat as Sam got older. We each have the Safety 1st Alpha Omega Elite and actually could have utilized it when Sam was a newborn as it is a three-in-one seat (rear-facing infant, forward-facing car, belt-positioning booster). Sam just loved sitting up like a big boy. Check out this pic Mommy snapped while Sam was enjoying some water in his sippy cup.

We are so proud of our big boy! I was telling someone the other day that each milestone is exciting, but also very sad for me as he grows more independent. I can’t even allow myself to think about things like his first day of preschool or his high school prom… Now I know all of the combined joy/sadness my Mom was feeling when I went through these stages.

Little Sam has already developed such a fun and friendly personality. Mommy and Daddy love to watch him get tickled with giggles. We peeked at the video monitor this weekend to find him waving to the elephants on his crib mobile. We love our Mr. Congeniality!
