Bad Blogger!

My goodness, where has the time gone? I have become such a bad blogger. Work, family activities, play dates and just watching little Sam grow have kept The Lemmons very busy these days. So much has been happening… I’m not even sure where to start on the updates!

We’ll begin with Curious Sam’s first Halloween. He was such an adorable little monkey! We loved trick or treating with The Russells. We began around 7p (Sam’s current bedtime) and Sam made it through about 7 houses before he started his traditional singing before he falls asleep. :-) Most babies begin to cry or get fussy when tired, but our little pumpkin loves to begin carrying a tune. So precious!

Sam has also gotten very good at waving bye bye (loves to do it from the moment we pick him up from his crib in the mornings). While his wave first resembled the Queen of England, he’s getting better and better and his waving is just cuter and cuter by the minute! He’s also perfected crawling and is getting around very fast. He aims for electronic and cords so we are really having to watch him in our mostly non-babyproofed home. Thank goodness Daddy picked up some electrical outlet covers this weekend. Sam has loved practicing his latest trick, pulling up to stand. Sam first pulled up on Mommy’s knee on 11/6 (just shy of 8 months old) and has been getting better and better at it ever since. His current favorite toy is his LeapFrog Learn & Groove Musical Table.

He loves to stand and make music pushing the keys. He is also enjoying his Fisher Price Chatterbox Phone which coincidentally was also one of Mama’s favorites. It's the perfect toy for the chatterboxes we both are. :-)

Sam has enjoyed trying out puffs and Mum Mums (baby rice rusks).

Mommy is also planning to add some new foods to the mix in the next few days (pieces of whole wheat bagel, pancake, cheese, scrambled eggs, pieces of baked sweet potato fries). To date, Sammy has been a great eater (aside from his first run-in with green beans... see flashback below) and we’re hoping he will continue to like eating a variety of foods.

We have started calling Sam our little “rascal.” His Daddy came up with the name and it couldn’t be more fitting. He’s curious, he loves to explore, and he’s so charming and social! Some days when we pick Sam up at Grammy’s we can tell by looking at her that he has given her a run for her money. :-) He just looks like a little rascal in this shot... Check out those teeth!

Mommy entered Sam into a contest for the cover of American Baby magazine. You can see Sam’s entry and “like” his photos at http://www.parents.com/photos/photo-contests-1/abcc/2509800022/. The entries won’t be judged on the number of “likes” (editors will choose) but we would still appreciate you thinking of little Sam! Only 14,000+ other babies in the running now, but you never know. How could they possibly pass up this face?!?!

Mommy and Sam have enjoyed play dates over the last few weeks and are excited about the ones we have coming up. Sam just loves to spend time with other babies and the socialization is so much fun for both of us!
